Attendance.

Present Miss Emily Cox (chair), Miss Margaret Ashton, Mrs. G. K. Grierson, Miss Basnett, Miss Guffick, Mr. G. V. Cox, Mr. Hugh V. Herford, Mr. H. V. Roe, Miss Mary Quaile, Mrs. Aldridge.

Apologies for Absence. Apologies for absence submitted from Mrs. J. J. Findlay, Miss Woolley, Mrs. F. E. Ashwell Cooke.

Minutes. Minutes of the last meeting were read and passed.

Letter of sympathy to Miss Ashton. A letter in acknowledgement of the Council’s message of sympathy was received from Miss Margaret Ashton.

Miss Woolley’s resignation. Miss Woolley wrote to resign her membership of the Council owing to pressure of other engagements and promised assistance in any special work of the Council. Her resignation was received with much regret.

Finance. The monthly financial statement was submitted by the Treasurer.

Sub-Committee Minutes. The Sub-Committee minutes were read.

Norwood Blouse Factory. It was reported that further advances in prices had been secured by the Amalgamated Society of Corset Makers and Sewing Machinists for blouse makers at the Norwood Blouse Factory.

Sugar Confectionery Workers. Several meetings had been held at St. Simon’s schools and the Caxton Hall for sweet makers at Lovell’s factory to explain the Trade Board.

Altrincham women workers. The Assistant Secretary had spoken at a second meeting at Altrincham organised by the Women’s Labour League to further trade unionism amongst the women workers in this district.

Joint committee invitation to Miss Cox. The Joint Committee had invited the Unions connected with the Manchester and Salford Trades and Labour Council to send representatives to their meetings. They had also inviting Miss Emily Cox to become President of the Joint Committee.

Annual Report. The proof copy of the nineteenth Annual Report was read and discussed in detail.
